Sayu Translate Privacy Policy

Sayu Translate ("Sayu", "we") is provided by Fuyang Zhihuicheng Network Technology Co., Ltd. This policy explains what we handle when you use the app and the video call web page.

In short: your translations stay on your phone. We never record or keep what you say.

1. What happens to your voice and text

Online translation. Your voice is sent over an encrypted connection to our server and our speech and translation providers, translated in real time, and discarded right away. The one exception is described in section 3: for some sentences, the text (never audio) is checked by an OpenAI model, which may keep it for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring. We do not record audio, we do not store what was said or the translation, our logs do not contain your words, and nothing is used to train models.
Offline mode. Speech recognition, translation and read-aloud run entirely on your device. Your voice and text never leave your phone.
On your phone. The app never saves recordings. Meeting transcripts (text only) are saved on your phone only when you tap Save. Conversations and video calls are not saved. If you delete a transcript or the app, it is gone; we have no copy. Saved transcripts are included in your own iCloud or computer backups, which do not pass through us.
Video calls. Video goes directly between the two devices, or through an encrypted relay when a direct connection is not possible; we cannot see it. Each side's voice goes through our server for subtitles and is handled as above.

2. What we keep

Only what your account needs:

Account: your email address (or the address Apple or Google shares when you sign in with them), an account ID, and a hashed password if you use one.
Usage and purchases: how many minutes you have used and have left, your plan, and App Store purchase records (transaction IDs, product, dates). We never receive your card details.
Security: short-lived records such as IP address and device information used to prevent abuse and to keep you signed in.

We do not use advertising or analytics SDKs, and we do not track you across other apps or websites.

3. Service providers

We use these providers only to run the service. They process data on our behalf and may not use it for their own purposes:

Soniox: speech recognition, translation and read-aloud. Real-time processing; does not store audio or text and does not use it for training.
OpenRouter and OpenAI: for some language pairs, the text of some sentences (never audio) is sent through OpenRouter to an OpenAI model to check the translation using context. OpenRouter does not store it. OpenAI does not train on it and deletes it within 30 days (kept only for abuse monitoring).
Microsoft Azure (backup read-aloud, if enabled): text-to-speech; input and output are not stored.
Cloudflare: DNS, and an encrypted relay for video calls when a direct connection fails. It cannot see the video.
Apple and Google: sign-in, and Apple for payments.
Resend: sends sign-in and password-reset emails.

4. Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We disclose it only to the providers above, or when required by law.

5. Retention and deletion

Account data is kept while your account exists. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Me > Account > Delete account). We then delete your account data, except purchase records we must keep by law. Translations are never kept, so there is nothing else to delete on our side.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your data, or to object to processing. Email support@smartsay.app and we will respond within 30 days.

7. Children

Sayu is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Security and international transfer

All connections use TLS encryption. Our servers and providers may be located outside your country; we take steps to protect your data wherever it is processed.

9. Changes

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date. Significant changes will be shown in the app.

2. 我们保存的：账号（邮箱或 Apple/Google 提供的邮箱、账号 ID、加密后的密码）、用量和购买（已用/剩余时长、套餐、App Store 交易记录，不接触银行卡）、安全记录（IP、设备信息，防滥用和保持登录）。没有广告或统计 SDK，不跨 App 追踪。

3. 服务商：Soniox（识别、翻译、朗读）、OpenRouter 和 OpenAI（为了译得更准，部分句子的文字（不含声音）会经 OpenRouter 交给 OpenAI 的模型复核译文；OpenRouter 不保存内容；OpenAI 不用于训练，为防滥用最多保留 30 天后自动删除）、Microsoft Azure（备用朗读，如开启）、Cloudflare（域名解析、视频加密中转）、Apple 和 Google（登录，Apple 负责付款）、Resend（发验证和重设密码邮件）。

4. 不出售、不出租个人信息，只在上述用途或法律要求时提供。

5. 账号存在期间保留账号数据；可随时在 App「我的 > 账号 > 删除账号」删除，删除后清除账号数据，法律要求保留的购买记录除外。

6. 你可以要求查看、更正、删除、导出你的数据，发邮件到 support@smartsay.app，30 天内答复。

7. 不面向 13 岁以下儿童。

8. 所有连接都用 TLS 加密；服务器和服务商可能在你所在国家以外。

9. 更新会发在本页并改生效日期，重要变化会在 App 内提示。
