SayU WA Translate Privacy Policy

SayU WA Translate is a Chrome extension provided by Fuyang Zhihuicheng Network Technology Co., Ltd. It shows translations of chat messages on WhatsApp Web and, when you press Enter or Send, replaces what you typed with its translation before sending.

In short: your messages are translated on your own computer. The extension does not collect, store or send your messages to us or anyone else.

1. How translation works

On your computer. Translation and language detection use Chrome's built-in Translator and Language Detector. Message text is processed in your browser and is not sent to our servers or to any third party by the extension.
Language models. The first time a language pair is used, Chrome itself downloads a translation model from Google. That download does not include your messages.
In memory only. Translations are kept in memory while the WhatsApp Web page is open, so the same message is not translated twice. They are gone when you close or refresh the page.
Sending. The extension never sends a message by itself. Only when you press Enter or click Send does it replace your text with the translation and send it. You can turn this off in the settings.

2. What is stored

Only your settings, in Chrome's extension storage on your computer: your language, the language you chose for a chat (identified by a short, non-reversible code derived from the chat title, not by the contact's name or number), the "send translation" switch, and where you placed the SayU button. No messages, contacts or phone numbers are stored.

3. What we collect

Nothing. The extension has no account, no analytics, no advertising and makes no network requests of its own. It runs only on web.whatsapp.com.

4. Permissions

Access to web.whatsapp.com: needed to read the messages on your screen in order to translate them, and to put the translation in the message box when you send.
Storage: needed to remember your settings.

5. Deletion

Remove the extension in chrome://extensions to delete its settings from your computer.

6. Not affiliated with WhatsApp

SayU WA Translate is an independent product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by WhatsApp or Meta.

We will post updates on this page and change the effective date.

1. 怎么翻译：用 Chrome 自带的本地翻译和语言识别，消息文字只在你的浏览器里处理，插件不把它发到我们的服务器或任何第三方。某种语言第一次使用时，由 Chrome 自己从谷歌下载翻译模型，下载内容不含你的消息。译文只在 WhatsApp 网页打开期间留在内存里，关掉或刷新页面就没了。插件不会自己发消息：只有你按回车或点发送时，才把你写的字换成译文发出；这个功能可以在设置里关掉。

2. 保存什么：只在你电脑的插件存储里保存设置——你的语言、你给某个聊天选的语言（用由聊天标题算出的、不能还原的短编号区分，不记联系人名字或号码）、「发消息用译文」开关、SayU 小按钮的位置。不保存消息、联系人或电话号码。

3. 我们收集什么：什么都不收集。插件没有账号、没有统计、没有广告，自己不发任何网络请求，只在 web.whatsapp.com 上运行。

4. 权限：读取和更改 web.whatsapp.com 上的数据——用来读出屏幕上的消息进行翻译，并在你发送时把译文放进输入框；存储——用来记住设置。

5. 删除：在 chrome://extensions 里移除插件，设置就会从你的电脑上删掉。

6. SayU WA Translate 是独立产品，与 WhatsApp 和 Meta 没有关联，也未获得其认可或赞助。

7. 更新会发在本页并改生效日期。
